"Charge Particle Radiography for National Security"Chris Morris , Los Alamos National Laboratory [Host: Craig Dukes]
ABSTRACT:
Intermediate energy protons are being used for very fast (flash) radiography.
Proton beams have shown to provide a flexible time format, excellent position resolution,
and adjustable contrast, for a wide range of high explosive driven experiments. These
experiments are playing an increasingly important role in the nuclear stockpile
stewardship program. An outgrowth of this work has been the development of cosmic ray
radiography for cargo and vehicle inspection. An overview of charge particle radiography
and its uses for national security applications will be presented.
