DESCRIPTION:Nilanga Liyanage \, Jefferson Laboratory\n\nSpin structure func
tions provide basic information about the spin of the quark\ndistributions
inside the nucleon. Measurements at high energy\nlaboratories have\nprovi
ded precision spin structure function data at low values of xbj
.\nHowever\, there\nis little precision data at low and moderate values of
momentum transfer\nand high\nvalues of xbj . This is especiall
y true for the neutron due to the\nabsence of a free\nneutron target. Pola
rized ND3 \, NH3 and 3He targets at Jeffe
rson lab combined\nwith its high-polarization continuous electron beam hav
e provided the opportunity\nto make high precision neutron spin structure
measurements in the high\nxbj region.\nAs examples of high prec
ision measurements possible at Jefferson lab\, I\nwill describe\ntwo plann
ed neutron spin structure measurements\, one in the deep\ninelastic region
\nand the other in the resonance region\, using the Hall A polarized
3He\ntarget. The\ndeep inelastic measurement will provide the first
precision test of\npredictions for the\nvirtual photon asymmetry An
sup>1 in the valence quark region. The\nmeasurement in the\nres
onance region\, combined with the DIS measurement will provide a first\nte
st of\nquark-hadron duality for spin structure of the neutron
