DESCRIPTION:Djordje Minic\, Virginia Tech\n\nI will discuss a remarkable an
alogy between the Jarzynski identity\nfrom non-equilibrium statistical phy
sics and the AdS/CFT duality. I will apply\nthe logic that leads to the Ja
rzynski identity to renormalization group (RG)\nflows of quantum field the
ories and then argue for the natural connection with\nthe AdS/CFT duality
formula. This application can be in principle checked in\nMonte Carlo simu
lations of RG flows. Given the existing generalizations of the\nJarzynski
identity in non-equilibrium statistical physics\, and the analogy\nbetween
the Jarzynski identity and the AdS/CFT duality\, we are led to suggest\nn
atural but novel generalizations of the AdS/CFT dictionary. The talk is ba
