DESCRIPTION:Jirakan Nunkaew\, University of Virginia\n\nDielectronic recomb
ination (DR) is an important recombination process in the high temperature
and astrophysical plasmas. In this talk we will show that it is possible
to identify the energetically unresolved high ι\; states that contribu
te to DR by measuring the autoionization rate as a function of electric fi
eld. We measure the autoionization yields of the excited isotropic and ani
sotropic cores of Ba\, 6p j nl\, j=1/2\, 3/2\, ι\; >10 in
the electric field and determine the highest ι\; such that the autoio
nization rate is equal to the radiative rate of Ba + 6p\, AR=
3.88×10 -9 .\n\n
